Weekend Playlist: My Romance

This weekend's song is a jazz standard by Richard Rodgers and Lorenzo Hart that was written for the musical Jumbo and popularized by Doris Day. Like many other standards it's been recorded numerous times. This version by James Taylor was the first time I really heard the song and it's stuck with me ever since then. Although there are arguably better versions of the song this one still feels special to me.

Weekend Playlist - How's The World Treating You

Last week I spotlighted the musical genius of pairing Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. This week is another example of musical genius in the form of pairing Alison Krauss and James Taylor. Their cover of the Louvin Brothers 1961 hit "How's the World Treating You" is a beautiful ballad featuring absolutely perfect harmonies. Although this song didn't make the charts it's still a classic recording. Enjoy.
